For most of my career the line between designing something and shipping something has felt strangely policed. Designers handed off. Engineers picked up. The work crossed a border. I never loved that border. So I spent a decade trying to unbuild it. Closer to the work, faster between the idea and the artifact.

Today that means I'm a Staff Product Designer at BioRender, where I design and write the code for the realtime collaboration layer of a tool used by four million scientists. Before BioRender, I was Senior PD at Calendly, and before that I led the design teams at Allē by Allergan behind the Wallet and Pay Over Time products, first as Lead Product Designer, then as Manager of Product Design.

"Designer-builder isn't a brand exercise. It's how I think the role is moving."

Field notes, 2026

If you're hiring for a design leader who still does the craft, or a staff designer who can hold a room of execs, that's the conversation I'd like to have.

Let's make
something
together.

I'm Staff Product Designer at BioRender, and I'm always open to a conversation about hybrid leader-who-ships roles, growth design, multiplayer canvases, or the slow craft of making digital things together. Send a note about what you're working on. I read everything.
